After a long wait, markhankins.co.uk is back online.

My name is Mark Hankins, I'm a 20-something web developer from the North-East of England and I love building stuff for the inter-webs. It's what I do for a living, and I'm proud of it.

I specifically enjoy coding in PHP, mySQL, xHTML, CSS and jQuery. I am a firm believer in open-source technologies and use them wherever I can. I work a lot with both the Joomla (1.0 & 1.5 flavours) and Drupal as well as having experience building web applications and sites from scratch.

If you would like to know more about any of these technologies then I can usually be found hanging around in one of the relevant forums, I generally go by the name of markosaurus. If you can't find me in a forum, use the contact form above and I'll get back to you as quick as I can.

I'll be adding to this site over time to include a proper portfolio, plenty of code snippets and a blog, amongst other things.

When I'm not sitting at a computer, I like to be outside, either on the beach or in the country is best, these are the places that I like.

I take a particular interest in accessibility on the internet and I find it fascinating how the internet in general can be such a leveller between people, regardless of ability, age or many other factors.

Anyway, that's quite enough from me for now I think.
